For Windows 8.1 (desktop version, not RT).
Any games sold here which work fine with the touch interface?
For the times when a mouse and keyboard are not readily available.

PC gaming for dummies: touch is not an interface, touch is a sickness. Really, stop that. Now. You already brought us that cancer known as Windows 8. Stop, right now. Stop.

Fun fact. Touch screens predate the oldest game on GOG. Touch screens were there before Zork, before Ultima, before Ghosts 'n' Goblins.

What, the, hell are you talking about?

Facts. This is an 1983 Personal Computer with a touchscreen. Notice the lack of mouse.
Touchscreen phones are from 1993 at least, if not earlier.
Atari Mega (based on Atari 520ST) also had touch screen capabilities.

So no, touchscreen is part of the PC, and it is a valid input method.

Do ask if you want more touchscreen examples on PCs from 80s or earlier.

I had a MEGA STE and never saw a touchscreen for it. I am not saying it didn't exist, but.....so what this had to do with my question?
Touch friendly games... *giggle* *blush*

Bruce Willis uses a touch screen to search for his wife when he first enters the skyscraper in the original Die Hard.

There were a few of those, mostly for use in restaurants etc. With a retail value of $4999 it wasn't exactly commonplace.

Nothing. I just enjoy pointing out that all the "new and evil technology that causes our downfall" is from the "good old days". KingofGnG thinks that touch controls are evil and a feature of the last 5-10 years, thus why I pointed out to him that touchscreen is in its fourth decade, if not fifth.

Unfortunately, I can't give better answers to your question, since I don't have any Windows based touch capable devices. I do though believe that most of the games that use exclusively the mouse should work fine, especially point and clicks. And I do recall someone suggesting Daggerfall, praising the combat mode as especially intuitive with the touch screen.

Apologies for the derailing.

No worries.
While as I said I never saw an ST with a touchscreen, I do remember going to the Infosys (I might remember the name wrong) some time in the early 90's and seeing PCs with touchscreens. I don't remember the exact year but they were still using that clown and the tiger to show the PCs lol.
Probably 93.
