Nice harmonising :) I like cadences at the end of the verses in particular, I would have used alternating intervals though to break up the sections where the notes are doubled for prolonged periods. My critique of this is probably worth just dismissing though as I don't really know anything about gospel/vocal duets but nice track

+1 :D
Bit of a necro but c'mon peeps I wanna hear your shizz!!
You 90's gamers will know this, especially if you live in the UK and owned an Amiga.

Yes, but I only play live at a session in Berlin every month atm.
Mostly dancing tunes from french folk and related stuff.
I usually play the hurdy-gurdy and framedrums, stopped singing in choirs and bands for a while because the choices suck.

I formerly was educated in playing the great highland bagpipe from 3 different teachers for some years but I sold it and rarely use my chromatic set of custom made border pipes anymore.

I play a lot of other stuff as well but since I'm an instrument maker that's no surprise.

Any other folkies around here?

Awesome :) I am partial to a bit of folk (listening not writing). Nick drake, joanna newsom and the incredible string band are amongst my favourites.

In the videos of me and the band playing a couple of posts up the guy with the longest beard playing lead guitar (vid) is a budding luthier. He made a manouche (gippo) style acoustic recently which is really nice with rosewood and ebony etc.

I'd never consider these as folk. It's nice singer/songwriter music.
You usually don't find guitars at folk music outside of Spain.

I mean stuff like this where you can dance the traditional dances (mazurka, bourrée, scottish, waltz, ciercle, highland dancing, halling, jägerneuner, tarantella, whatever) to:

Nobody has recorded our session yet though, although it's 1,5 years old and established now.
I'll post something as soon as someone with a camera is there, hopefully it's an evening with a lot of dancing, we got this sometimes.

Always good to see people building stuff. ;)

Some nice vids here :D That Urbaine looks/sounds like an interesting instrument too, will have to give that a good googling. I was at the IGGF (small gypsy festival) this weekend just gone and was in a large jamming circle in the camping area and 3 jewish folk musicians joined and transformed it from gypsy jazz into klezmer :D was awesome!
That's just an unusual looking hurdy-gurdy, "Scottish Urbaine" is the name of the tune.
I like to play Grégorys stuff, his compositions got a certain groove.

Lol, that's what they usually do: Transforming everything into klezmer. I have experienced this more than once. ;)
