I just installed Soldier of Fortune for myself and Tron 2.0 for my little brother, and have already kept the boxes in my cupboard because I don't want to leave them lying about outside; I also don't want him to rummage through my games just to get at the discs, so I need to find some no-CD cracks.

I used to visit <link removed by moderator> and <link removed by moderator>, but lately it seems that the files on <link removed by moderator> are mirrored by adf.ly, whatever that is, which is marked as dangerous by URLvoid, and <link removed by moderator> has been infected with malware since a few years ago, and I haven't gone back since. Anywhere else reliable enough to get them?

<link removed by moderator>
I haven't been using it for a long time since I've been buying only digital copies for years, but worth a shot.

sorry, can't help you... in europe, the use of cracks to remove a protection are agains the law.

And the use of crack anyway :)

Sorry I have no answer because I've used the services you mentioned a few times in the past as well. At least do not try to get cracks by searching them in the Emule (ed2k) p2p-network, 99% of the search results for small exe files will by default be trojans acting as any file you search for.

Extending your question a bit, since I've heard from so many people it is no hassle to crack Steam games (making your Steam purchases permanently offline), I would be especially interested on sites that have extensive library of Steam cracks. I think <link removed by moderator> has _some_, but there are over 1100 Steam games, so...

adf.ly is just a URL shortner like bit.ly but it pays the user for each click through it gets tagged cause it adds adverts...

Are you sure? I think the distribution and sales of them is generally illegal (which is why e.g. the console modding companies disappeared quite fast I think), but not using.

Cool thanks I'll take a look at it.

Should I block adf.ly on NoScript or allow it? <link removed by moderator> is not letting me d/l the file without allowing adf.ly

I think that depends on a country. In Finland the consumer law trumps over, though there's a point of if the cracking requires substential effort, then it's against the law. But personally I don't care.

So you are saying it is illegal in Germany?

yes it is... you do not own the game/program/movie/music disc, just the right to use it as it is. To make any changes on the provided data is illegal (at least in germany, and at least a couple more european countries). You are allowed to do a copy of your own discs, but the protection is not allowed to be removed or changed.

In in the past, I just assumed it is illegal but now I know it is. That sucks. :(

I know... most problems with games are fixed by using cracks :)
Hi,
I'm locking this thread, removing the links and please don't link to any crack websites on the GOG.com forums.
