I know a few have made their way to Steam, but not all and I'd absolutely do cartwheels to get a version of TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance that doesn't require all the workarounds I currently have to go through to play my games. Plus there is other old school goodies from LucasArts that would fit in well here like the Indiana Jones games as well as the Dig for the adventure lovers. Heck, I know some people actually despised these titles but I'd love a copy of Rebellion and Force Commander that plays nice with my Win 7 OS.

I noticed there is nothing LucasArts at all anywhere on GOG and was just wondering if that's an oversight or if some contractual issue is keeping them from getting these Good Old Games?

Of course it's not an oversight. GOG can't publish anything they want to; obtaining rights for worldwide selling from the publisher is a rather complex process and, most importantly, some companies do not really like the idea. LucasArts and EA are the two most requested publishers on this site, and it's quite certain they were contacted by GOG, repeatedly; what their reasons for declining are we may never know.

If the owner of the rights doesn't want to sell their back catalogue, all GOG can do is persuade, persuade and then persuade some more. They have already convinced quite a number of companies, so just keep your hopes up. LA and EA are very tough nuts to crack, but weirder things have happened.

...but we can go ahead and guess:
-No DRM (both EA and LucasArts can be very thick-headed when it comes to this, or anything related to potentially loosing profits...they are not alone with this either)
-Maybe the price is too low, though they presently make no money from those games at all (usually). They might possibly want to make a remastered edition or something, or at least, have the opportunity to do so.
-"Worldwide rights" is probably something like a deadly curse among publishers, because they usually refrain from using it in conjunction with anyone (expect for themselves, but you probably can't curse yourself).
-Etc. We can guess all day, but these are the most likely reasons imho.
I imagine since Lucasarts went through a brief dalliance with re-releasing their old hits a year or so ago and kept it on Steam and D2D only, despite GOG already existing, that they didn't like the lack of DRM.
No chance at all. But i would love to see Curse of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango here!

I doubt it largely due to the fact that LA seems keen on releasing 'special editions' of their old games, and so they wouldn't want the originals eating into those sales. Just be glad that George Lucas isn't remaking them himself, otherwise we'd have cries of "Zak McKraken shot first!" and the originals 'going missing' like with the films.
I bet you didn't read this first.

Rebellion would be a great deal for GoG to have on here, since its nearly impossible to get that game to work on Vista or Windows 7 machines. Lucasarts could only profit from that one. Heck, it would be easy profit for both GoG and Lucasarts/EA to just finalize the deal and get it over with. Its not like they're going to be losing any money by having them on GoG, and these are "good old games" we're talking about.
Unfortunately we'll never see them now. The deal with Lucasarts was nearly in the bag, but fell through at the last minute. The conversation went like this:

LA: Okay, that's great. So Grim Fandango, Tie Fighter then Day of the Tentacle. The forth release should be Force Unleashed.

GOG: Nooooooooooooooooooo!

LA: Hey now! Darth Vader impressions are our copyright. I -

GOG: Are you threatening us?

LA: Well it's just that -

GOG: Get out! Get out I say! Good day to you, sirs!
In one of the very first interviews with a GOG staff member well over two years ago they were asked if there were any games or publishers they considered "key gets". The general answer was of course "yes" but the only publisher they specifically mentioned by name at the time was LucasArts. They've been trying to get LA since before day 1 here and we've been patiently waiting for it to happen. Eventually it may happen, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Actually making Lucas Arts executives hold their breath for couple of minutes (by means of rope, garrote, plastic bag etc.) could do the trick...

I'm sure that would work "better" than You-Know-What as a publicity stunt...for the rest of the world!
But as we are creepy gamers who care about nothing else than getting their slimy hands on their games, we wouldn't mind, would we? It's not like anyone likes Lucas Arts, or their executives, to be precise.
