What exactly is an "Error# 0"? My ISP provides a service tool that allows me to monitor my remaining transfer cap that runs on Adobe Air. For some reason it stopped detecting my modem properly, and so I tried to uninstall it, but apparently the uninstallation process required a certain "setup.msi" that was placed in the Windows Temp folder, which is cleaned out regularly by another program I use. I don't know why these programs place critical files in the Temp folder, but suffice to say I was forced to manually delete the program folder, and then I used CCleaner to clean all registry entries and delete the Programs and Features entry from the Uninstall Programs list.

After redownloading the install file for this tool, I tried reinstalling it, which seems to progress to a certain point every time before telling me that an unspecific error has occurred and naturally it's the application author's fault and not Adobe's, but giving me Error# 0 at the end of the message.

*sigh* This is just another in the latest in a string of software failures, the other being that my entire Steam Library crashes since the latest (Nov. 4) stable client update. I don't expect to hear a response to the ticket I submitted for at least a fortnight (two weeks) since they're devoting all resources to making COD: Black Ops functional.

You can capture a log file from the install, per http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb403123 . The log will contain more detailed information regarding the problem.

After you do that post it here.

More proof that Adobe can't code proper software ;-)

Sorry, I really wish I could help you, but when you're dealing with Adobe, you're often beyond help. They just don't play nice with people's systems.

I hope someone else who knows more can give you a more constructive answer.
"Any Adobe Air experts?"

Certainly not at Adobe. I don't know if there even is a solution, to be honest. You're probably best off consulting your local shaman.
You can also try and use this to remove the AIR install and then reinstall it.

Used it to get rid of a Java install that I managed to hose one morning :D
I hate Adobe. I will be so giddy when HTML5 replaces Flash. I wish I never would've had Flash on my phone; it slows down the process of reading a website, it sucks batteries dry, and it displays ads.

I followed the instructions given to the letter, and while log files were created, nothing was recorded in them about the application install process. All that's in them is "ECHO is on".

[EDIT]
However, the Cleanup Utility seems to have solved the problem. After removing the appropriate entry (I even found an old GoG.Com Downloader Beta entry, fancy that), the next installation attempt was a success. +1

However, my next problem is that the application still does not detect my modem properly, so I can't tell the remaining percentage of my transfer cap. This is an issue I'll have to take up with my ISP, who provides the app.

Does your ISP let you access the usage information through a web interface? Because at this point that's probably the easier solution. :(

Yeah, they do. It gives an hour-by-hour count of MB used, but my cap replenishes itself in a rolling 24hour period, and I've lost count of how much I've used since it was last replenished, or WHEN it was last replenished.
