It's advertisement, pure and simple. I'd say it's a good target to do it with, and will probably help GOG.com in the long run, which helps everyone who likes GOG.

He links to the sale page which will end in a few days. I wonder if that link should be edited to link directly to the gamecard.
As for the deal I think it's a good thing. I personally like Axiom and TB and it's nice to see TB doing a bigger endorsement of Gog than before. He has often talked about Gog.com and praised it. It's how I originally came to this site. 63 games later(more if you count bundled games separately) I dare say that he has at least got Gog some business. ;)

I've even bought a bunch of games that I already owned like Hind, Apache Longbow, Il-2 Sturmovik, Carmageddon II, Worms United, Dungeon Keeper(Nevermind, I actually got that one for free. Thank you, Gog ^_^), Heroes of Might and Magic II, III and IV.

I am also getting excited now that I see more current titles coming out. I have Shovelknight on my wishlist among other things. Xenonauts is another. I like the look of Space Run and having seen TB's "WTF Is..." of it I think I might buy it and if I do then it will be on Gog.com and not Steam. If I can buy something on Gog I will because A) I like that it's DRM free which is how it used be back in my day before all you whippersnappers came along. ;) and B) With the US Dollar price vs, the Euro price I tend to save money buying things on Gog and who doesn't like saving money in an honest fashion?

reaver894: I havent seen 1 purely positive thing about this, and from what im reading GOG will be sponsoring a group will put the money towards things that GOG will never be able to use due to rights holders etc. The ONLY positive thing I can see from this is advertisement which 99% of people skip or ignore if they can.

I dont have much info on this other than what ive read in the past 15 mins, but from what i can see the money would have been just as useful to be handed over to the North Koreans for their Space project.
You can't skip sponsorship. It's right there.

Yeah when they run Starcraft 2 they have overlays and in a lot of cases the sponsors are displayed on screen throughout the matches.

I love e-sport.

I imagine we will be seeing Blizzard and Valve titles very soon on GoG :P
The GOG.com mention felt extremely short, not to mention the fail with the "Good Old Games".

GOG doesn't take the sale pages down, and the game will be clickable even after the sale ends. But he should have linked to the gamecard, people not familiar with GOG might get the wrong impression regarding the usability of the store - "too many clicks to get to the game and buy it". ;-P

Out of curiosity, what are the comments like? For some odd reason, comments don't display for me, which is actually a good thing given the usual quality level of them. ;-)

GOG aren't idiots. They know what exposure this buys them and how much it's worth to them. The nice thing about this deal is that there is almost no crossover between the two audiences, GOG users and eSports viewers.

Granted, same could be said of the DPRK's missile programme, but it's hard enough to pay to a company in Cyprus without the added fuss :P

TB doesn't allow comments anymore, so there are none afaik. You can read Reddit's reaction, though - http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/2ci5l9/totalbiscuit_giants_citizen_kabuto_this_is_why_we/

And reddit seems to prove Jesse Cox worries right.
I wonder what the deal with all the deleted comments is though.

Perhaps people calling him a sellout?
I'm assuming they weren't compliments.
To be fair Giants is currently in the 4th top selling spot, so nobody can totally deny the influence TB has here. Same thing happened when he did his Dungeon Keeper 2 video. Just roll with the times and be happy that this is improving sales.

150,000 views in 10 hours. Seems like advertising dollars well spent.
I know TB and Axiom and GOG. so only happy that GOG gets more promotion as well as some great old school games.
