keeveek: I love animals. Especially dogs. But they cook for too long.

btw. Good for you, that you don't support PETA - the biggest massive animal killing organisation.
Actually, dog meat doesn't really taste that well. From all the animals I ate, it is amongst the worst, imo.

Now horse meat, that is something really good. Or kangaroo, damn, really tasty. But in the end, nothing beats a good rumpsteak or filetsteak from a cow.
I've never eaten a dog. I just know that there are certain breeds of dogs, only their meat tastes good
Thread needs more charity to be a charity thread. At 20% it's just more self-promotion from you.

IMO it's better than the measly "donations" some companies make like "Buy x and we'll donate 5 cents/1% of the proceeds." :\

Noted.

That sounded a bit harsh, I must have needed coffee and/or a cigarette when I wrote that. Sorry if I came across as rude.

I still stand by the gist of it though, if you gave all of the profit to charity and maybe kept back some for expenses, you'd seem more generous and I think you'd generate more good will around your project and gain more listeners. If that's too much, even a 50/50 split of the proceeds would get more people behind you.

In my opinion, if you make a financial sacrifice now you'll gain even more positive publicity for your music and make more money for charity too.

Now kangaroo is damn fine indeed!
Where did you try dog? I've always wanted to try, but presume it's not available in Europe. Missed my opportunity in China unfortunately, though I did sample other curiosities.

I am planning on a 50/50 split for a local shelter, I have a list I got from my neighbor that I'm going to be looking into. As of today, I donated the 20% I promised which turned out to be approximately $9 USD. Not much, but it's enough to feed some kids in fur clothes for a while.

I hadn't checked the thread since my last post, otherwise I would have mentioned that my next project for June is going to be 50/50 split.
New single up http://coleman.bandcamp.com/track/sunshine-wins

Starting today through the end of June, 50% of all sales of this track and all music on my site will go to a local animal shelter. I have to decide which one to donate to, but I will post the specific shelter within the next day or so.
Pre order available for the new album "A Taste of the Soul" http://coleman.bandcamp.com/album/a-taste-of-the-soul where you can listen to the first three tracks on it for free.

Unofficially 50% of the pre order sales I generate are going to the Humane Society's local branch where I live. Minimum asking price is $3 USD, the more you give the more kittehs and puppehs you can help save.

I am not putting the donation on my bandcamp website because it did not seem to make a difference in sales generated, but I will be posting on facebook and twitter.
