hedwards: It pretty much just comes up when marketing strategy does these days. I think most of the folks that were really pissed left and didn't come back. To that I say good riddance.

Poulscath: Oddly, I was just reading some forum archives and this subject was part of it.

It was amusing to see the number of people who responded something like:

"It was a dick move! A really... Baldur's Gate you say? All is forgiven"
I remember at the time that a lot of us expected something along those lines. If you refuse to do business with GOG you quickly run out of sources for old games. Or really games in general because it's hard to find stores that don't behave worse than that.

Oh, of course it was pretty much to be expected. It was just amusing to see so many turnarounds at once. I'm almost surprised noone got whiplash :)

BTW, I wasn't looking for this, I just pulled up threads in about a dozen forums from around that time while searching for something else and it caught my eye.

On topic: Nerf Now is awesome, epecially those ones :)
