xyem: Several monitors (with their fascias removed) put together to make a high resolution display. My current plan is a 4x4 (16 monitor) wall which should give me 6720x4200 resolution about 2 metres across and 1.2 high (depending on the size of the monitors).
Sounds pretty awesome, but I'd imagine that will require one beast of a PC to run smoothly.
Yeah, and a lot of money going toward your power bill. :P
Probably couldn't break ~30fps...

The monitors will be connected to 8 or 16 machines. I'll either have one machine rendering at a "normal" resolution and just "upscale" it or if this software I know about (but haven't have chance to test) works, the rendering will be distributed across the cluster (or "ant colony" to fit in my computer naming scheme :])

EDIT: If I turn my head 45 degrees to the right, in my field of view I can see 7 computers (3 desktops (2 personal, 1 server), 2 laptops, a webbook and a tablet).. all on and being used. I already use the most electricity in my house :P

And just outside the window I'm sat next to is my car.. which I also put a computer into ^_^

Hopefully you'll be able to get it running perfectly. :)
