mushy101: only a piffling 8GB storage on board with no sd card expansion slot
Wishbone: This alone makes me not want it at all.
mushy101: and a silly reliance on cloud (I like to own my media, thankyouverymuch)
Wishbone: But how much does it actually rely on the cloud? Isn't it just an option, not a requirement?
Yeah, even rooted, I won't buy this if there is no way to expand the memory. My gameloft games take up over 5gb on my android handset's 8gb memory card. I'd be really hard pressed if not for the onboard memory enabling me to DL the productivity, fitness and media apps to it. I'd like to put a few movies to it, but HEY! Guess what? Not enough memory to put 3-4 on. It would've drove me up the wall if it had no expansion slot.
No two ways about, 8 gb is just far, far too small for power users. Which is fine in this case, since the device really isn't marketed or designed for them. I suspect Amazon will make a bigger, better featured, more spacious tablet for the likes of you and me. They did it with the kindle line.
With only 8GB storage space, I reckon it's a requirement in most cases, consuming the music, movies, Tv shows, games and books you do in a month probably sends it way north of the 8GB mark.
