...a savegame on Normal difficulty GOG version 1.0.3 on Alan Wake? I am at Chapter 3 Silver Mines and my save game is wacked. I could use a save game close to Silver Mines too.
If your save is broken, there's another way. You can simply restart the chapter. Open the menu, choose "Episode", difficulty and you can start chapter 3.
If you've already escaped from the police, you can start at the mining museum. Otherwise you have restart the entire chapter.
You're send to chapter 4, after you've beaten chapter 3. So don't worry. You only lost progress, but no collectibles or anything.

Don't worry about collectibles, they are all saved and you don't need to collect them a second time.
At least that works for the X360-Version I played. I assume, the same goes for the PC-Version).
Slightly OT, but how does the game run on low-end machines?
Ok, I can answer that question now.
Not well.

Ya it runs very poorly (10 - 20 fps) with everything on the lowest setting on the minimum system requirements. I was very disappointed with it's performance on my laptop. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a good ways over the minimum requirements. It does run like a champ (on maximum) and is absolutely beautiful if you have the recommended rig though.

gameon: Is that with the latest patch? (which has a very low spec setting)

Thanks. Had actually downloaded the patch but had forgotten to apply it. It does improve it but still not good enough.

I reckon I'd be happy if my laptop managed 10 fps with it. But oh well, I'll just wait until I get home and play it on my desktop. The days of when I'd play stuff on my 486 with x2 the minimum requirements through sheer willpower alone are long gone.
