Miaghstir: In fact, they made lists of so much more than just games available here.
That they did.
FYI, my news about the GOG reopening contains a short summary of the main differences between the beta and the "official" version of the site.

OmegaX: We had a semi-working downloader.

Miaghstir: We do again!
Inded we do; I just got a corrupted download of Outcast. The wonders of leaving beta...

Nice advertisement. Which "forum improvements" do you mean, exactly? The fact that replies are no longer auto-stickied? The fact that threads with replies sometimes just disappear? The reduction in maximum post length? The automatic insertion of a space after every line break? Or some of the other "improvements" that have thankfully already been fixed? ;-)

Or maybe he's referring to the improvements to rep, which can see your up-voting someone directly result in them losing rep or indeed the fact that they've removed protection against angry n00bs with an internet vendetta.

CommanderMeaty: Nice! can i know how it was by beta days?

Navagon: Well, it was a lot less buggy back then. A hell of a lot less buggy. The forums were less dumbed down and more exploit-resistant.

But I do prefer the new box shine over the old.
Yeah that's right, GOG making the improvements where you need it the most! Shiny game box covers!
I can't fully remember, but I think I recall the guys who run this say they rewrote pretty much the entire code for the site. Somewhere amidst the apologies for the pr stunt and the Baldur's Gate bump. So the changes might not be apparent unless you had both codes to compare.

Or I AM MISTAKEN!!!!

Thank GOG for that!
