I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person here with a crappy, balky internet connection. It makes downloading large games problematic, sometimes.

Personally? For big games? (Psychonauts, I'm talking to YOU!) I'd be happy to pay an additional $5 to have it burned to a DVD and shipped to me. It seems like that's a price-point that would feel reasonable to customers, and still provide additional revenue to GOG.

Thoughts?
Questionable as to whether or not the added infrastructure would be worth it, especially since support is already overwhelmed during non-sale times.

Plus, this might result in having to renegotiate some deals, since it would be a different kind of distribution/supply.

Best bet is to find someone who lives near by and, if you share a game in common, have them burn for you.

I have a terrible connection as well. (Max speed is 50kb/s. Not joking.) So I bear with it. Took me 3 days to download Psychonauts.
also i don't think you'd like to pay 20 dollas just for shipping.
$5 for shipping? Um...really? From Poland?

Beyond the fact that getting physical copies would be expensive, let's not forget that CD Projekt would have to set up an entire distribution network just to offer this. I can't see it coming close to being worth it.

And their distribution contracts with publishers likely only pertain to digital distro, since there would never have been reason to get more than that. Every one of those deals would have to be renegotiated.

CD Project group already has it's distribution set up. It is a Polish game developer and publisher. The problem is, it is probably too small to handle international sales. That's why it is using Atari to publish The Witcher 2 abroad.

This and distribution contracts.

You are better off making some friends with faster connection. :')
