I don't see any problem here at all.

I have a huge catalog at gog, and a huge catalog at Steam. I hate steam, I love gog - both passionately.
I trust the gog community gives a more sensible and helpful reply so I post my problems here.
Additionally
If I find a solution to a problem I encountered on Steam here at gog, why shouldn't I apply it to solve my problem.

I don't think this is morally wrong as long as no one feels abused. We can continue this discussion as soon as the esteemed forum members here or gog's support start feeling as victims of abusive Steamdrones...

Oh, the guy Barbak mentiones is abusing gog trust and he is bit stupid not to join gog and start buying his old games here, but that's nothing to do with the problem in my humble opinion.

F1ach: I personally don't think it's worse as I don't actually have the steam version, I have 3 disc versions and the gog version, but if you look through the steam forums and reviews, people there are complaining about the steam version in particular.

I only had one problem with the gog version at launch, but I was able to remedy that in about a minute.
Well there are a lot of people on Steam and I seem to remember Sacred (or perhaps 2) had a pretty spotty history with Ati cards or something like that. Also to be fair, we really shouldn't call it the 'Steam version' but the 'version sold on Steam by the publisher' or something like that.
Personally I never really liked either of the Sacreds so I haven't spent a lot of time with them, but I do remember reading a post on GOG about some kind of slowdown issue when you zoomed out.

I checked the zoom and I have no problem, so I cant really comment on it or it could be Sacred 2 (which did have camera issues on PC (not on console).

Could be, like I said I never liked the games too much.
The first one makes my eyes bleed and I dislike all the characters in the second one.. and the third one is crap :P
Oh, I know all about my limitations.to keep it pretty much ontopic my PCgaming limit is Steam, just installing a Steamed game (from disc) took me a whole weekend to get it to a functional state & it still stands as my worst experience installing a game going back to the days of the Commodore vic-20 (when we often had to type in the programs we wanted to play)

So for me...
GOG - 140 games
Steam - 1 & that was partly because the Steam requirement wasn't listed on the store page at the time.

I dunno, maybe cos I play a lot of old games Sacred looks OK to me, as regards the second, how can you not love the high elf, I love her voice overs and yeah, the third.... I really would like to know how it sold, it did hit the top 10 on Steam, if it sold really badly, either Deep Silver will revert back to the old style or just leave the IP to rot, but if it sold really well, they may continue in that vein....I don't know which is worse :).
