Sometimes I see a "1" under my account section, if I click it doesn't say if I have one PM or one reply from the forum, the 1 simply disappear.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying.
You currently have to go manually through the categories to see if you got a forum reply, a message etc.

Workaround here, needs Stylish add-on.
