I've written it in some other topic, but it'll come in handy here too.
I have just ordered the RollerCoaster Tycoon Gold (original one, Corkscrew Follies and Loopy Landscapes) via eBay. With shipping from US to Poland it costs me a few cents above 20$. According to the auction content it's an edition that is compatible with Windows XP. According to my yesterday's research every edition of RCT is able to work on Vista with some patches on board.
Here are my impressions:
- RollerCoaster Tycoon WORKS on Windows Vista without any patches
- The resolution sucks a lot (1024*768 is max) but I can play windowed
- Installation of both addons crushes in the same moment. I wonder why but I will do some research later, maybe I'll force the application to work properly.
- Game works only with CD but according to the fact that I own the legal copy of it I'll try to make a virtual disc for this one so I can play without any device
Yay! Let's build some ol'coasters! :D
