I just got a 3d monitor which works with the Tri-Def drivers. Tri-Def has what they call the Tri-Def ignition system which allows some games to run in 3D. I found that some of the older programs will work with the ignition system. The game needs to have two qualifications. First it must use DirectX 9 or above, and second, it must be able to run with a screen resolution of 1920x1080. So games like Broken Sword - Angel of Death run great in 3D which gives a whole new gaming experience to an old program. Is it possible for you to make up a list (or in some other way) which indicates that the game meets the two restrictions for 3D? That would save us from paying for games that we ultimately can not run in 3D!

That would probably make the most sense if it were included in the gogwiki.

Sooo... you are only going to buy the game if it can be run in 3D mode? :o
I would treat 3D as nice addition not as requirement...

Edit: by looking at your registration date I could think that it is rather advertisement than actual plea for help. Especially when not so much amount of old games could run in resolution you mentioned and this site is mainly about them.

My goodness, do you make a habit of judging the motives of people you do not know? Never mind, I was just making a suggestion for the new 3D techonology which I think would ultimately improve this site. I will go else where to get games.

You name the product 3 times in 1 sentence then talk about it's limitations and great advantages... you have to admit it looks suspicious

That would make my vote for, yes. I do not need 3D visual magic in every game as req to play it. On the same rule you could be very bored of old movies - they do not have 3D option at all.

What on earth are you doing on this site? You are aware that this is Good Old Games, right?

Welcome to the internet.

Yes, it sounds like you should. You're missing out on a load of brilliant classics of course, but from what you're saying, I doubt you'd appreciate them anyway.
I personally hate 3D especially conversions where the game or movie was never meant for 3D (looking at you Disney).

I'd rather buy these 2D glasses if a movie was only available in 3D these days. I had my fill of 3D with Avatar.

I would add this for consideration. . .

I believe there are games that meet the criteria such as Divine Divinity but . . . at 1920x1080 the characters and text are so small that 3D would not be worthwhile. I find around 1280 horizontal to be the highest res that plays comfortably . . . for me at least.

I would be interested in hearing others comment on using these drivers and their affect at the higher res.

Or the OP might just be blown away the the results. I've been accused of that sort of thing in the past when I got really into whatever, doesn't necessarily mean that it's spam.

In cases like this where there isn't a link to a particular shop to buy the Tri-Def equipment, I'd personally be more inclined to give some benefit of the doubt.

Then probably squash the poster for being a fanboy. :-P
