keeveek: RPG is all about playing a role. You can have RPG game without statistics or levelling, but a game without choices, non linear plots etc is not RPG for me.
So by your defintion, Baldur's Gate is not RPG.

Your character may have the personality you want him to have, you make choices, you drive your character through the game.

I don't even understand what possibly could you meant by that.
