Edit 2: Okay for Rayman 3 DO NOT play the version offered there, it has the terrible TAGES activation limit for the game, just fork over 5.99 for the GOG version for the sake of having a DRM free version. Prince of Persia Warrior Within on the other hand seems to not have any DRM that I can see so if you go with a free game on McGame's promotion, go with that one.

Edit: Disregard the DRM thing, Rayman 3 seems to have an activation limit, haven't tried Prince of Persia yet.

I tried it and got a couple of games thanks to two email accounts (I am greedy, deal with it. :P) and it seems to get legit. I nabbed Prince of Persia Warrior Within and Rayman 3 and based on what I downloaded, they seem to be DRM free from what I am noticing with only having to enter a serial key provided by the site when installing, such as the case when I installed Rayman 3.

So, one of the advantages of the Steam Summer Sale is that, while everybody is focusing their attention over there, the McGame network is not being hammered anymore and I've managed to get downloading speeds over 500 KB/s.

And finally, after a week, I've been able to get Heroes of Might and Magic V Gold installed on my computer. As far as I've noticed, there is no connection required to install the game (and its expansions) once all the compressed archives have been downloaded from McGame. Even more, if I'm not wrong, I'd say that once uncompressed, what you get is a copy of the file structure you can find on the retail DVDs. I've not been asked to enter any keycode during the installations, though, even if I got 3 from the game page on my McGame profile. [Oh, I've just realized, the keys are for playing online through Ubi.com. I've just activated the original one without a problem (a Uplay account is needed).]

There are two updates available for the games: one for the original (which is included in one of the folders of the installation directory) and one for the second expansion, which isn't included, but can be downloaded easily using the Update Tool that automatically downloads the appropriate patch from Ubisoft servers.

All five EFIGS languages included, same as the retail version. And, I'm guessing, if I just burn a backup copy of the uncompressed installation directories, I won't have to worry about McGame ever again.

TL;DR: Web is legit. Game works perfectly fine.

Not a bad reward for a bit of work figuring up the German page with the help of Google translator... :-)

keeveek: So, anybody was able to download the games? I'm trying since it started, and nothing... Either I get riddiculous 5 kB/s , or nothing.
I d/l Prince of Persia for Kristy yesterday - virus check, no probs - installed fine, and runs well - hope this helps you persist :)
Trying this and... not getting any email/codes or anything back after signing up for the site... hm..
Can I just download it like GOG or do I need another launcher program?
