ashout: clearly this boy was part machine.
We can rebuild him. We have the technology.
All that matters is at least the boy was saved in time, and hopefully both the boy and the mother have learned a valuable lesson from this; The importance of self-control and monotor the use of technology in your household.

I'm a little disapointed you didn't add extra cheese and double the meat on that order

ashout: I'm saying he's not perfect, and neither are you. thats why i don't take it to personally that your being hard on the kid, your imperfect too! so am I! we all polish rocks and try to turn them into gold, but the wisest of us just call it a rock and leave it at that.
I think you're taking this all a little bit too seriously, ashout. As for the whole rock thing, It's usually me that's championing that 'we're flawed and we've really got to accept it if we're to get anywhere as a species' philosophy. It's one of the many reasons I find myself opposed to many major religions.

ashout: I'm with you man, i'm sure we all deserve a darwin award for SOMETHING we've done during our lives. now, if he does it AGAIN, THATS stupid.

Navagon: We've all done stupid things that were dangerous. But pure stupidity for four days straight? There's no hope there.
I agree. I'm sure all of us have done a few stupid things during our time on earth so far but it is common sense that going 4 days without water and sleep is really bad. Just like it is common sense that if you stick your hand in fire, it will get burned. The kid is just stupid. I hope after this, people don't start blaming the video game addiction. It wasn't the addiction that made the kid collapse. It was being stupid.

Back in my days we used to snort magnetic tapes, Solo Flight was a major trip... oh, not that kind of game addiction? Ah.

On a more serious note:
Blame parents, not games, it's their responsibility.
Either the kids a game Olympian or there's something seriously wrong with him. Does he have a audio file playing "breathe in, breathe out" looped by any chance?

Sometimes intelligence just increases our capacity for stupidity. Ashout's polished rocks have zero intelligence, but don't do any incredibly dumb shit either. A beetle wouldn't starve itself to death because it almost entirely relies on instinct. We've moved away from that. Which means that it's technically possible for us to do some really stupid things if we don't think them through. That's why we need to substitute instinct with common sense. But unfortunately common sense is a bit of a misnomer.
all i'm asking is that you have a heart, and think about what your saying before you say it.
