interesting. I'm always up for new RTSes, though I'd prefer it if they could just kill the 3D RTS fad already. All of them except Homeworld play exactly like the 2D RTSes of the 90's did anyway, only with bad camera controls instead of a static perspective.
Might be interesting. But the problem with RTS is that it's often impossible to tell how good it will be until the bugger's released. But then I suppose that's often true of most genres.
Haven't really cared much for RTSs since the original SC, but this actually looks pretty interesting.

Agreed. I find the 3D thing annoying too, also because of the camera thing. Other than that it's okay. The advantages of using 3D rather than 2D are that the graphics automatically scale to any resolution, and that it makes zooming easily possible. The downside of that is that most developers use that to enable the player to zoom further in than the normal perspective, when what would actually be useful would be to be able to zoom further out.

I remember the zooming function of Dawn Of War was hyped quite a bit. "You can zoom in and see the action up close in exquisite detail!" Which I did exactly once, just to see it, then never bothered with it again, because that perspective is useless in an RTS. And it seemed that the farthest you could zoom out was still quite a bit closer to the ground than the normal RTS perspective, meaning you could see less than usual.

Well I guess this game will be somewhat static and with few UI items, it's arcade, so they won't make it complicated for newcomers. And it's easy to port an arcade like this to the iPad and iPhone, where you'll probably just slide the screen in a fixed perspective.

And yes, I want the KKnD series on GOG too. ;)

Agreed. But already looks like a nice little game, judging by the screenshots.

And these guys did make Gorky 17 before, so...

It doesn't look like it's hardcore enough to compare it with SC... but looks interesting to me too, yes.

I hate this on RTSes, specially modern ones.

I always crank the zoom out as much as possible, I don't like playing a third person shooter/hack and slash in my RTS games...

Unless that's how it's designed to be played, like Sacrifice. And even that can be zoomed out pretty far for a third person perspective game.
A reverse tower defense with a hero... isn't that basically DotA, without other people? Hmm, this could be good.

Yes, depends of the game's mechanic, of how developers intended it be; for example Sacrifice, indeed.

Just my personal taste: if there's the option, then view it from as far away as possible.
Bump. Posting so to spread what these guys from Poland have been doing: it's a tower offence game, not defense. ;)

There are exceptions of course, like World in Conflict or Strategic Command.
