Today, Bandcamp is offering up their end of any sales made to various charitable causes (See this article). Since I know just saying that may trigger an impulse to shitpost in some people, I'll say that's not the primary focus of this and I'll ask that if you have opinions on that part, start your own thread and bullhorn 'til you can bullhorn no more.

The focus is more on making someone happy, as greeting card off the line as that may seem. This isn't a contest - you can feel like a winner or a loser or anything in-between. It isn't a "put that person in line for Sainthood" ploy, it's about the kindness and maybe a little about how music can help all different types of people find a common bond. Just maybe though.

Anyway, if you're a Bandcamp user (and you should be, especially if you bark militantly about DRM and stroke the GOGbear's fur with any frequency - Bandcamp's a DRM-free palace for a lot of music and is home to many artists and labels) then I'm asking you to post your profile, with your wishlist set to public. If you're comfortable doing that, of course. Ideally no one should be judging you whether you love Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction a bit too much or are a diehard McElroy podcast fan or anything else in-between, but if you don't feel comfortable making your tastes public, don't feel pressure to do so.

But, if you do, then maybe you'll see an album or a track or something find its way from giftland to you. No guarantees, letters to the home office will never see the light of day once they reach the mail room (it's a dungeon in everything but the name, you see)
Not in, but just flagging this post with some good ideas for people:

Band camp does have a lot of good stuff.

It does indeed.
The thread title isn't all that accurate.

Spectre: The thread title isn't all that accurate.
That's the last time I hire a chimp to formulate a thoughtful thread title from the agency that totally exists and isn't an excuse for my own ineptitude and shortcomings as a pseudo-sloganeer.
