Armello (good fecking riddance)
Original working good properly priced baldurs gate/ice wind dale/planescape torment

CharlesGrey: Wait, Armello was removed entirely? I think I missed that -- was there an announcement? I thought they just replaced it with that crippled "DRM-free special edition".

A shame about some of the other games which were removed over the years. Some of them are really good, and it's frustrating to think that most of them were removed due to expired contracts/ licensing issues.

I wish GOG would at least give people a warning ( via a front-page post ) and a final chance to buy such games whenever possible. Usually we only get a forum thread, and I imagine most people miss those.
Or an option that you could buy soon-to-be-removed-games automatically. Then I wouldn't miss out anymore. ^.^

X-com: Games I've managed to buy before removal are:

Alan Wake
Balls of Steel
Chronicles of Riddick
Darksiders II + DLC
Descent + Descent 2 *
Descent 3 + Expansion *
Duke Nukem 1+2
Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project
Grid
Guilty Gear Isuka
Guilty Gear X2
Spellforce 2
Superfrog
UFO Afterlight

* Got these in a trade after they were removed
I was looking at Darksiders 2 and I thought "Dark Souls was here at some point?" But before I was about to throw my laptop out the Window, I looked at your list again and realized it was just Darksiders. Phew. That was close. I thought I missed out on Dark Souls 2. Grid would've been nice though as it needs the Steam client to run otherwise.

Well some traders still have gift codes for the GOG version of Grid, if you're ever looking to trade head to the GOG trading thread

I'm unable to PM you. You can PM me. My privacy settings are open. GOG changed their settings recently.

I figured that, it's just that I have nothing to trade. Haha. I was looking for Race Driver on Ebay to see what I could find.
Edit: I might actually have something.

XYCat: why did armello disappear?
avatar
adaliabooks: They cut out most of the features and stopped updating it (rebranding it as a special DRM Free version) and I think the backlash after that meant they didn't make any more sales and just completely removed the game instead of bothering at all.
Either that or as soon as whatever original agreement they'd reached with Gog ended Gog may have kicked them out for the above shenanigans, though that would be pure speculation.
Glad I didn't get this eye popper of a game in here. Added it to the basket a couple of times though.

dtgreene: Technically, I could add the following to the list:

Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics (Interplay versions): These games each actually have two entries in the catalog: one published by Interplay and one published by Bethesda. The Interplay versions can't be bought, but the Bethesda versions can be. The actual game is the same,
You sure about that? I am not expert on this subject, but I'm pretty sure that Interplay versions of some of those games (at least the original Interplay versions) are not censored, whereas the Betheseda versions are censored. If that is true, then no, they aren't "the same" at all. Censored games suck.

Bethesda version of Fallout II has killable children and bloody deaths.

Bethesda version of Fallout I is indeed censored like you said.

I have Interplay and Bethesda versions in my collection.

So unless something changed in an update (which sincerely, is unlikely to happen by Beth), players will need the unofficial patch for Fallout I, to restore the cut content, but Fallout II is totally fine to be played as is.

Not that it matters that much, players will likely install unofficial patches and mods to make the game more stable and complete in any case. And it's not like in Fallout II, where kids actually make a difference to the story, there's no quests involving them in the first one.
