Just checked on today's Steam update. They're also doing a May the Fourth promo and one of the specials is an X-Wing series promo.
at a decent price as well.
was bound to happen anyway
Well perhaps the collector's edition will stay exclusive on GOG for a while.
confirming they are there and have a 10% discount. X-wing, Tie-fighter, XWA, xvt all up there. FIRST TWO don't have the just-added CD.
3 months exclusivity for X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. It was going to happen, sooner or later. Interestingly, the descriptions of TIE Fighter and X-Wing don't seem to mention the Collector's CD-ROM versions.

And if you buy all 4 you get a 32% discount.

In truth, I think the only real thing of note in the Steam SW sale is that they have the 2 Star Wars Lego games on sale for 70% off. That's a *really* good deal as they are very rarely on sale, let alone at that price.
I'm not dropping money to find out but as far as I can tell it's just the 1998 remakes in the XvT engine and the 1993 dos originals. The forums so far don't have much in them, but it includes concern about which edition they're getting, curiousity about the difference compared to the gog edition (as in concern it wouldn't be stable as steam doesn't fix up old games), and people complaining about the price.
BOO!!!

And exactly 6 months exclusivity on the first two X-Wing and Tie Fighter games. GOG release date 10/28/14 and of course, today is 4/28/15.

The description of X-Wing on Steam states:

"This product includes STAR WARS™: X-Wing and all Tour of Duty expansions: Imperial Pursuit and B-Wing in both 1993 (DOS) and 1998 (Windows) versions."

So, yeah, definitely don't have what GOG put out today.

As far as the Steam version "not being as stable", I'd be willing to bet that what is on Steam is specifically the GOG release. The price of the initial exclusivity on GOG was probably GOG doing the work to make the games compatible so that they could later be released on Steam.

Why would anyone be shocked by this? Sadly companies are about making money so to make money they usually make their stuff available to as many outlets as possible and plus as it stands Steam is the big dog in the yard. I doubt they are going to stay the big dog if they keep doing the silly things they do but that's a whole different can of worms but as it stands now it makes sense for Disney to release their Star wars games to Steam as soon as they can but so long as GOG get's first crack at them it helps them.
