I am trying to play Prince of Persia: Sands of Time with an Xbox 360 controller. I tried mapping the controls in the game itself which mostly work good, however, there is no consistent running and the Prince often just walks at a snail's pace.

I have downloaded XInput Plus and done everything needed in order to get it work, however, when I try to apply my custom settings, I always get the popup " The program in the same folder as Xinput Plus is not made to a target program".

I have selected POP.exe as the target, so I am unsure what this means. I can test out all the controls just fine, but I can't get the settings to apply.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I would love to be able to play this game again and I could never get used to PC controls for it.

Hello dksoulstice and welcome to the GOG forum.

I can think of two ways that could help you solve the problem:

1) Have you extracted Xinput Plus to the same folder as Prince of Persia? If you did, I would recommend that you instead extract it somewhere else and then run it from there and see if it lets you apply your settings.

2) Alternatively, try uninstalling and reinstalling Prince of Persia. but to a different location this time, outside the Program Files folder. Something like C:\Games\Prince of Persia. Then, try applying Xinput Plus and see if it worked.

Hello Grargar, thanks for the welcome! Been lurking on GOG for awhile, and finally joined up.

I did the first option, and it worked like a charm! I've no control issues in-game now. Thank you very much! It's been over 10 years since I have played this game, and I am glad that I can play it again.
