Anyone else getting spam direct messages from users like "www_zvkai_Com"?
I'd hate to see all our GOG chats filled with junk links.

Yes. It's the spam from these accounts that caused GOG to make chat "friends only" by default.

The spam has me wanting to spend less time on GOG.com forums/chat (and I have been spending less time). The solution of forcing people's accounts to friends-only is an ok but ugly short term throttle but a completely ineffective solution to the long term problem as I think most agree from threads in the forums, and of course it affects those such as yourself with giveaways and sending codes out, so everyone who actually participates here - which is ultimately who the anti-spam is for anyway, has to go and undo what GOG just did in order to receive gifts etc. anyway leaving us with completely ineffective spam controls.

I'd like to think that GOG is "on top of it", but on the best of days that usually means "come back in 3 years and see if anything has changed yet".

Go-go-Gadget-GOG-Ineffective-Bandaid-Solutions! :)
So, how it is usually solved elsewhere is - chat is unlocked only if your account has purchased something which was not free and must have some age.

So that a spammer newbie acc has only GOG support to chat to. :)
no one's been spamming on my gog chat .ever. thats weird.

guess i'm just under the radar
