it made an already dreary evening drearier. just finished the 'crookback bog' thread last night and it really captures a great sort of 'halloween legend' vibe that even most horror games lack.

the long and short is this:

older lady seeks the help of three ancient witches who live in a swamp because she's pregnant with the child of a man who's child she does not wish to bare. they cast a spell on her which saps her life/energy thereby aborting the fetus. in return for their help the older lady is forced to essentially play shepherd to the witches cattle, in this case being a ramshackle village at the heart of the swamp populated by orphan children (it's implied that they're eaten only toward the end of the questline, AND the fact that she's forced to knowingly tend and fatten the kids for the witches consumption in return for an abortion adds a super dark karmic twist which drives her mad).

also, every npc in the game is miserable, starving, about to be eviscerated, or about get their soul ingested by a mire beast from the pits evil.

anyway, the witcher 3 is an awesome rpg even though it sort of ruined my evening with its super dark vibes. totally worth playing if you haven't.

Have you been to Fyke Isle yet? Listen to the whole story in A Towerful of Mice side quest..
Wait, wait... you talk about the actual gameplay and contents? You don't have any problems downloading, installing or running the game? And your account wasn't stolen shortly after the purchase? Wow, that's new.
You can change brightness and contrast in the settings :o)

I don't use galaxy, so no. I always just use the executables. Easy to archive and install.

yep, great quest, and a bit more emotional than i was expecting. didn't have the halloweeny edge the crookback bog quest had though.
