Following the releases of Resident Evil games on GOG, I thought recommending another survival horror game would be good.

SIGNALIS is a survival horror game inspired by classics such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill with obscure and deep story, puzzle solving and map exploring. If you don't know about this game, I recommend you checking it out.

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/signalis

As I posted on the link above of the wishlist, this kind of game, just like Selaco, should be a day 1 release on GOG, because GOG seems to be focusing on indies more these days. So question is here - Why is SIGNALIS not here yet? :)

Many have asked on Steam forums already for a GOG release, so, yeah.
We can push it through to wishlist too!

It has 19000+ positive reviews on Steam, with both recent and all time reviews toping at 'Overwhelmingly Positive' reviews there.

Its description from Steam page:

[Prints taken from Steam store page as a simple screenshot - so those screen shots do not represent the game resolution]

"Searching for dreams inside of a nightmare

Awaken from slumber and explore a surreal retrotech world as Elster, a technician Replika searching for her lost partner and her lost dreams. Discover terrifying secrets, challenging puzzles, and nightmarish creatures in a tense and melancholic experience of cosmic dread and classic psychological survival horror.

SIGNALIS is set in a dystopian future where humanity has colonized the solar system, and the totalitarian regime of Eusan maintains an iron grip through aggressive surveillance and propaganda. Humanoid androids known as Replikas live among the populace, acting as workers, civil servants, and Protektors alongside the citizens they are designed to resemble.
The story of SIGNALIS begins as a Replika named Elster awakens from cryostasis in a wrecked vessel. Now stranded on a cold planet, she sets out on a journey into depths unknown.

Experience fear and apprehension as you encounter strange horrors, carefully manage scarce resources, and seek solutions to challenging riddles.
Explore the dim corners of a derelict spaceship, delve into the mysterious fate of the inhabitants of a doomed facility, and seek what lies beneath.
Discover an atmospheric science-fiction tale of identity, memory, and the terror of the unknown and unknowable, inspired by classic cosmic horror and the works of Stanley Kubrick, Hideaki Anno, and David Lynch.
Wander a brutalist nightmare driven by fluid 3D character animations, dynamic lights and shadows, and complex transparency effects, complemented by cinematic sci-fi anime storytelling."

SIGNALIS devs never said they were going to make a game bigger than Resident Evil, ok? :P
The devs don't want to commit any resources to bringing the game over to GOG - that's literally what their publisher told me. I don't know if they understand how much work (or lack thereof) it is to create a GOG build, but that's where they stand.

The game's alright - highly overrated, to be honest. I'd buy it again if it came out on GOG, but it's a very middling take on the RE formula.

Oh well - that's sad then.
Another indie that will probably die from history when Steam servers go down years from now... or not, we don't know.

Thanks for the information.
I wish it was a better answer. And what makes it even more difficult is that the game is published by Humble Games, which all but shut down a couple months ago. The consulting group they brought in to manage the back catalog is highly unlikely to pursue any additional endpoints for the game.

That is even ... welp.

Really thanks for the information and bad news mate.
We could hope that GOG could do its wonders to make it come here right now as they did with Resident Evil, but I think they have other priorities now, so yeah - a no no for this one for the time being, sadly.

Thanks again!

Not going to hate the game because there's no GOG release. It looks pretty good, in my opinion. But I'm guessing they have more than enough resources to easily bring the game to GOG. Judging from all the Steam reviews.

True, also, the game was apparently made on Unity.
Many indie devs that use Unity as their engine, tend to make the game DRM-Free.

Do you own it on Steam?
If yes, may you please check if it is DRM-Free or if it only uses SteamStub DRM?
Who knows - GoG having secured the prestigious OG Resident Evil trilogy may cause the developer (and other reluctant developers/publishers) to reconsider, if that hasn't happened already.

Voted.

I actually have this on my steam wishlist for eons now and it's one of those, one of many, that i won't mind waiting an eternity to show up here, slim as the chances of that happening may be right now.

Forgot to say I voted as well.
Its only on Steam and MS store, not DRM free,... definitely not a dev enjoying to publish on PC. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Signalis

There is a PS4 and Switch hardcopy version but, it has been sold out at every place i know of, so basically not available. PSN marketplace works too... just another digital with DRM.

MS store? They have no excuse not to have on GOG now. lol
It seems they simply want DRM but Denuvo was still to pricey to attach or perhaps not sufficiently accepted by customers for a "Indie game", i dunno.

Maintenance surely was low... not much updates at all, in all those years. https://steamdb.info/app/1262350/patchnotes/

I know publishers on GoG, for example from "Old World" https://www.gogdb.org/product/2010300617#builds , "Disco Elysium" https://www.gogdb.org/product/1771589310#builds or "Pathfinder" https://www.gogdb.org/product/1207187357#builds ... they update their stuff... even on GoG, like mad. I think most important is simply not to be lazy... and sure... the motivation for not being lazy can be different.
