Expanding on what karnak1, even if you decide that DRM-free is important, you should check if the games you currently have work entirely offline outside of a launcher before repurchasing them. There's no need to purchase again something that works the way you want it to.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: Should you buy games you already own elsewhere?

That depends on: what exactly do you hope to accomplish by doing that?

Sin6ularity: Mostly to have them here and to play them on galaxy to get some achievements on galaxy and that`s it, nothing else.
I like drm-free games but I never play games outside of galaxy or in offline mode.
If you like to collect games and achievements and you have the financial means, I don't see why not to buy games on GOG.

What you buy on GOG is truly yours and doesn't give you the annoying Steam feeling of paying a subscription for something that is likely to become inaccessible at any time, see the recent case of Ubisoft games. There are more than 1,000 games with achievements on GOG, and we have a community to report broken achievements and try to fix them, so on that side, too, GOG definitely offers what you're looking for.

The only problem might be the lack of recent AAAs, but you can keep buying them on other platforms if you're interested.

Exactly, one of the reason I want to use gog is because of that, I want games i buy to be mine, but I play them via galaxy, nothing wrong with that.
gog have so many games I would like to play, I don`t care much for new games therefore I think gog be a place for me, but my reason is not to play games in offline mode without client, but beacuse I want drm-free games and to own them.

I read every post you guys wrote and all i can say is that it helped me a lot. I am kind of new to gog been here for maybe a week or so, I know about drm-free but many things I don`t know yet, still trying to learn. I am newbie here so if I say something stupid or if I`m missinformed forgive me...

Sin6ularity: What do you think I should do? Would you buy games on gog you already paid for somewhere else?
I would really appreciate any tip you could give me.
Rebuy when on sale. No need to go bankrupt over it.

Of course, I usually wait for sale and get good discounts. :)
My budget don`t allow me to buy games at full prices and I used to always wait for sales...

Sin6ularity: Thank you karnak1 very detailed and helpful answer. It helps me decide.

Since I don`t play games in offline mode, I always use galaxy or other clients for my games there`s no point buying them again.
I play my games on PC, I don`t have laptop and internet here is always active, in last few years I think I never had to go offline, so this answer helps me a lot. No point buying them again, but I will probably buy few games I really like and want to play them.
Thank you all for good and helpful tips.
I think you have made the right decision for you. It wouldn't be the right one for me, because DRM-Free is important to me.

You don't seem to be that bothered by DRM, and so no point to buying the same games here again, especially as you might end up with a lesser version in some cases.

I am guessing you came here for the few games you cannot buy elsewhere, as prices at DRM stores, especially Steam are roughly on par with GOG, especially sale prices, so no reason to buy here instead of there, unless it is DRM-Free you are keen on, or taking advantage of a sale while you can, remembering of course, that you may end up with a lesser or abandoned version here.

I am bothered by DRM, but too late I already bought bunch of DRM games elsewhere, all I can do is trying to focus on gog games.
Actually I came here cause I don`t like steam much, community is very toxic, lot of angry kids, as an old man I got tired of that. Other thing is games became so cheap, so easy to get, almost everywhere you go they bombard you with cheap keys, so games lost value, at least they did for me. So I decided I need a change, I like single player games, I almost never play any online game and I like to play them in peace. Those were the reason I came.
About DRM I know very little about it only from what I heard that you own the game you buy and can play without client and that`s about it....
I still think I made right decision coming here.

Certainly seems like it, though I guess just using the Steam client doesn't mean you have to visit Steam, so can avoid the toxicity there.

If you do have an issue with the Steam client, then you do have other choices, especially if the same games are here at GOG, so it could certainly be worth re-buying a few favorites if you play them enough, any of the issues I mentioned previously aside. Some games at Steam are also what I call DRM-Free Lite, and can be played without the Steam client once you have downloaded them, and maybe done a little documented tweak. We have a thread here that goes into all that, but sadly locked now (replaced by another one at Steam). Steam also have a command-line version of their client, SteamCMD, which is good for avoiding the bloat of their client, though it still does all the same checks, if less onerously.

My plan at this moment is to focus getting some games I really like for gog and replay them here, I will probably wait for good sale and buy some games I like.
Don`t get me wrong, there is a lot of things I could say about steam...but I wont....since this is gog community..

In last few days I added some games to my wishlist I would like to re-buy here, I will wait for good sale and hopefully I will be satsified at the end....

*everyone who participated in this thread got + reputation from me, I think thats fair...
