LiefLayer: Get it on epic. It is drm free there too. After you use the epic launcher to download the game, you can Uninstall the launcher, make an installer with inno setup (if you want to) from the installed folder and your backup will work everywhere without a connection.
I was able to test all of this so I'm sure if it and the game is awesome you will not regret it.
Many people have zero interest in Epic...
Remember when Celeste was included in one of GOG's anniversary videos a few years back and yet was never released on the store? I've heard speculation it might have had something to do with controversies surrounding social media posts by GOG at the time. Is it possible some of Supergiant Games' reluctance to release their latest here might have something to do with the lingering stink of those issues?

Due to the information (or missinformation) I have about Epic, I would purchase 100 times a game in Steam before purchase it on Epic. And I don't purchase nothing on Steam!

The question I do myself, is, why a developer wouldn't publish their game in all big platforms? why should they deny possible incomes?

- maybe because they want to protect the game with DRMs? (which are cracked in days or hours)
- maybe because GOG doesn't allow to edit the user reviews and they don't want initial bad feedback? (btw, comeon GOG, allow this)
- maybe because they want to use the Steam api / workshop?
- ...
I think it will come for sure, I would be surprised if it didn't.

You don't need any interest in epic to get a drm-free game.
You don't need to keep it once you downloaded the game, you don't need to use it while you play, you just need it for the download.
I like gog, but if a game is drm-free I don't have to get it on gog.

"Does Hades include DRM of any kind?
No. The computer versions of Hades are DRM-free."

PS. the game is drm-free also on steam

Hades not being on GOG is ridiculous at this point. I blame the developer for having a stick up their arse.

Supergiant games are a really weird one. On their website, every page has links to many stores - Steam, EGS, mobile app stores, console stores. But no GOG link anywhere, even though all their games save one are sold here.

Fuck Supergiant games.
I'm also keen to get Hades on GOG. I've been holding off on getting it on Steam. I'm not a fan of Steam; and I haven't bought a game on Steam (or Epic) for more than 10 years. I don't want to break that streak!

But yeah... I do want Hades. I still think there's a decent chance it will appear on GOG one day. All the other Supergiant games are here, and I'm under the impression that a couple of them took a long time after release before coming to GOG. So that pattern may continue.

But as others have said, the only official response from the developers has been something along the lines of "we have no current plans to release on other platforms, but that may change". (I read a response like that on their discord channel about 6 months ago.)

I'm not really sure what makes developers choose to bring games to GOG. But since GOG has a games wishlist, I assume that sometimes GOG approaches developers to try to encourage them to bring their games to GOG. I wonder whether that has happened with Hades yet.

Orkhepaj: why not? those are just stores like gog and i think hades has no drm in it
* I'd prefer to support a DRM free store, even if the particular game I'm buying happens to be DRM free elsewhere.
* I'd like an offline installer.
* I'd like the game to be part of my GOG collection, because my other games of that type are also on GOG. It helps me remember which platform things are on.
* I dislike the direction Steam has gone in recent years - in particular, I dislike that I can't prevent games from updating; and I can't remove their 'what's new' advertisements from the main page of my Steam library. So I'd prefer to not use Steam.
* I'd also prefer to not use Epic simply because I don't want to install a store-front for a single game. With GOG, I don't have to install anything other junk to get the game. I can just install the game directly with the offline installer.

...
I think those are the main things. But also, I don't particularly want to get into an argument about this. It's really just my personal preference and my reasons are my own. So please don't try to argue about it.
While Epic version is DRM-free now, it may change anytime. Most of the games are now being bundle with Epic Online Services and in some cases the game refuse to start if the file(s) aren't there.

Plenty of exemples of games that introduced DRM via achievements update or DLC.
There's no warranty the game would stay DRM-free on Epic or Stem but there's also no warranty either the game would receive future updates/dlc if it comes to GOG.
