From the titles (because the OP for each spam thread seems to be empty), it looks like spam for one of the million-and-one MMO-type games that they have here.

Oh, and contrary to popular belief, you actually can teach English in Korea, and not be white. For the most part, anyway.

Isn't there some kind of epidemic going on right now? They mentioned it during GSL Starcraft tournament. A lot of people were wearing masks.

i've only ever heard of an half-white/irish singaporean teaching english in japan, not korea. and i checked the spammed URLs, they're online gambling websites.

and i guess thank you, SJWs and those cloned accounts who love HATRED more than me, for the down-rating? you guys are made for each other. now go get a room.

it's probably safer than middle east if that means anything. they've been isolating cases better than most asian countries would.

Heh. Not that it comes as a surprise to anyone who's spent any amount of time working as an expat in SK...

I can assure you, there are brown and black people teaching English in Korea, and pervasive racism issues aside (heh), one can actually have a pretty good time of it too, provided one has a thick skin and a willingness to adjust to the culture. I will say that attitudes have slowly but surely been changing. Incidents of racist jokes in the Korean media have been met with a growing backlash from Koreans themselves, especially younger Koreans.

I also realized the spam posts were for online gambling websites, as the later spam threads had "Ka-Si-No" in Hangeul. ;)

While the MERS situation in SK is nothing to really panic about, the government has come under fire for, in large part, failing to properly manage the situation. Quarantines were not enforced, and vital information was withheld from the public to save face on the part of the hospital admins. Potential carriers were allowed to leave hospitals of their own recognizance, even going so far as to recklessly expose others to the disease.

I have heard of anti Korean sentiment in Japan right now.

Elmofongo: I have heard of anti Korean sentiment in Japan right now.
A lot of that anti-Korean sentiment comes from the right-wing wackos/xenophobes/etc. it's even prompted a backlash among some Japanese. A lot of it comes from, I suspect, the perception that Korea has overtaken Japan in terms of global cultural and industrial visibility.

From my own experience, the average Korean/Japanese Joe/Jane on the street (for the most part) couldn't care less about the persistent sabre-rattling that's always going on between the Korean and Japanese governments (with some exceptions of course). They're too busy trying to make a living in an economy that's bad all around.

My personal experience is that the people there are really nice. I'm looking forward to heading back there.
