In what way? It's less closed than Windows. Maybe you're confusing macOS with iOS. It's not wrong to describe iOS as a "closed garden," but that doesn't really apply to macOS.

Darvond: A lot of the API on MacOS are closed or otherwise so niche as to be an obstacle; moreso than can be found on iOS.

Apple takes a "All about ME" approach to design, and much like people weren't willing to put up with Unity, I have my doubts developers will want to keep up with a company that keeps changing the rulebook.
Why are you intentionally ignoring what he said?

*Turok 2 remaster already has a native linux port, just not on GOG*
