Ixamyakxim: Like you I remember the game on original release - I remember the original promo materials and magazine ads (Elexis Sinclair! ;) ). I'm almost 100% positive on release it was always stylized as SiN . As to the why, I can't answer. But like I said I'm almost certain it's not a later iteration of the title. It was always meant to be SiN. Something to do with "SiN Corp" that originally sold the drug or whatever.
Hey, thanks for your reply.
I'm not really interested in the why. The thread title meant "why now, when it wasn't so before?"
The corporation is SinTek, not SiN Corp. According to Judicat0r everything on the box, except one form, show it as Sin or sin/SIN. In-game there isn't a
single case of SiN; it's always Sin or sin/SIN.
However some old reviews (roughly one third of them) from mobygames linked in his post, do show it as SiN, and that had to come from somewhere. So it makes sense when you say you remember promotional materials showing it as such. (interestingly SiN is more prevalent in foreign reviews and you mention German magazines, but this could be a coincidence).
Anyway, I got what I want, so thanks but if it's not something readily available I don't need you to check your magazines. Unless one day you're very very bored and can do so easily, but this will be just to satisfy my idle curiosity.
Ixamyakxim: If you're super curious I can probably dig up the old PC Gamer mags that had the ads. But that'd take a bit of effort on my part ;)
EDIT: Actually, I'll be visiting my grandparents myself and my magazines should be in their attic somewhere. Let me see if I can dig them up.
