Mugiwarah: If you leave for this, you better stop living as every business in the world bow to China not only GOG.
This is not true. There is a valuable effort to revert this trend and China is feeling it (it still has great PR though. I mean, international observers have been screaming scam for years now and nobody listens).

Heck, even Samsung decided to move their factories away from mainland China.

About masks, well, I am fortunate enough to be able to buy local (but that's a thing here in Brazil).

Chielus86: I like Russia post-communism. I have always liked Russians as a people, just as I like the Chinese as a people.

I dislike the current regime and anybody willing to kiss their feet. And what my government thinks of Russia or China is not in any way important to me or a guideline to my personal stances.

vsr: It is the same as to say: "I love Russians, but i don't like how they look, how they talk, how they work, how they think, how they behave, how they elect theirs president, basically i don't like everything they do..., but overall i love Russians". :D

If you love someone, you should respect them and theirs choices. If they love Communism - OK, it's theirs choice and it's theirs life.
what a complete bs
you don't have to accept everything they do , like drinking and bend in for dictators

Possible trade barriers and rising costs in wages. Not much to do with the morality of dealing with their central government, just business. In fact, they'd move to Taiwan if they'd get a cent more in profits. And China would import their products, no problem (heavily modified, of course).

If you mean NH-17, please contact Mark Rutte for that. You know, the same dude who cancelled the order of facemasks because they where ordered by political opposition because they "did not comply with guidelines" only to tell people 2 weeks later "just make your own, it's fine"

Also, way off-topic and I won't reply to such nonsense in this thread further on.

The problem is it's too late to completly remove China, you can reduce it a little, but not completely remove the influence on the market. And let's be realistic for a second no store would cut hundreds of Millions of potencial custumers for 1 game. I personaly would prefer that they put the game in here even if i don't care about this game but i don't like censorship but they are a business and it's the most logical move to do for them.

I would have had more respect if they simply made a 2nd company dedicated to China. Much how Blizzard did it.

It's still rotten, it's still pandering to a inhumane regime... But at least you are not giving them more influence in your native country.

But that is exactly what USA is doing to Russia. And you're OK with that.
When China is doing that stuff to you, you became mad. Why?

Blizzard have far more funds than GOG, so they can afford it, i don't know about GOG as they are separate from cd prokekt and it does not seems very well compare to other stores.

Chielus86: "A Polish company, during a time of democracy, is bowing to a the Communist Party of another nation."

The above is the TL/DR for those who only seek headlines. For others, here is the big wall of text:
CDPR is a Polish company. The country of Poland has a rich and well documented history when it comes to communism and what it has done to the nation. The countless dead, poverty and the loss of cultural identity are all real things that happened there. For those who know history, know that this is the natural outcome of communism.

Yes, I have products of China in my home, there is no avoiding it. But if I can help it, I do anything in my power to put it to a absolute minimum. I can help myself when it comes to gaming, mainly retro gaming, to avoid giving money to China or even power. Now we are at the point that a Polish company, disregarding their own history, is actively seeking positive feedback from communist China. Being a guy that studies history, my stomach turned in a bad way.

So yeah, leaving GoG as I cannot do business with communists or communist sympathizers.

Let's end with a positive though, I'm glad I could download my games to put them on my own backup server. This part of GOG has always been awesome and during a break-up, makes it that much easier to leave.

Have a great day all.
Nice finally someone who does something for what he believes in, much respect to you.
All these downvoters are just jealous of you. They are jealous they have no self-respect and will to do what you do. They are way too afraid to do anything, instead they attack those like you.

Don't mind their lame attacks about you using some china products, we all know that's nearly impossible to do.
It is like someone starts cleaning around its house and these grumps whining why not cleaning the whole city.
Stupid isn't it asking for you do to more while they are doing nothing just whining about others doing something.

I don't think it is the most logical move to them. They are counting on Westeners to do all the talking and criticizing and then not acting on it, because if we do, there is no comparing how much money the Chinese have vs everyone else (everyone else has way more money and it is a bigger market).

Don't forget that if China is a billion we are many times that. Heck, Europe and North America alone are a billion!

But to me the most infuriating part - and the one I am mad enough about to actually stop supporting the site - is the way they communicated the thing. "Many gamers"? What am I, a joke to them? Tell us the truth! Come on, GOG, Say what you have to say at least, damn it!

You are both talking about politicians and reflecting it on citizens.

It makes absolutely no sense.

Everyone's behaviour is disgusting.
It just depends on your point of view.

Cool, just note that you can't buy that videogame you're raging about anywhere because it's not GOG's doing :D
