Why do I have to buy multiple titles in a package rather than being able to buy single titles??

Why do I have to buy the whole Heroes of Might and Magic V bundle, instead of being able to select just 1 title?
Why do I have to buy the Lands of Lore 1+2 bundle, instead of being able to select only 1 title?

This is even more stupid, because the LOL bundle should consist of LOL1+2+3. Either bundle all of them or none of them. Regarding the HOMMV bundle: the only worthy part is the Tribes of the East, which costs only half the price at UPlay. This bundled way of selling just doesn't make any sense! Also it feels like wasted money, when being forced to buy duplicates or triples.

I'm with you here GOG just made me buy the whole Catacombs bundle but all I wanted was 3D trilogy. How unfair of them ;)))
I was sure the topic was: "Why do I have to buy bundles instead of single tittes???"
Was going to reply that they only come in pairs!

As for your point, they are cheaper coming together. Its harder to sell older games individually. Just wait for one of the sales, or weekly promotion. You will probably be able to pickup both of LOL for next to nothing.
During sales the Heroes titles were like 80% off.
Back in the days gog had only two price points, 6 and 10 dollars. As many older games would hardly sell for 6$ each they decided to bundle some games. The reason why they bundle all the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 releases is that people like me are intersted in having the complete set, which includes all standalone expansions.

In both cases I don't see really a problem, as you can still buy them on sale and then hide your unwanted games. In cases like Heroes if Might and Magic 5 and other games with standalone-expansions I also want that GOG release them as bundle.

Because with classic games, GOG always tries to offer most complete version available. Generally classics are also priced 5.99$ or 9.99$ (there are exeptions like HoMM5) so if GOG staff thinks the value of single game being less than 5.99$, they bundle more than one game into one product if they can convince developer/publisher to agree to it. If price is not to your liking, wait for sale.
You don't HAVE to buy anything. Be happy you have a place to acquire such games at such incredible prices.

I believe it's a matter of taste. I greatly prefer it this way.

I'm not a bargain hunter, but care about what and which games I chose. There is no need for bulk in the shelf, and I don't like games in my library, I didn't chose to have. This also applies to all the free crap games I received by creating this account. Hiding these games doesn't change the fact they are there and sometimes pop up again in my shelf, because of bugs in the GOG portal. I can't do anything against it, because contacting the stuff to remove games is a very cumbersome process (which I already used once).

I'm a very clean person, ok? I have no socks or underwear thrown around on the floor/carpets in my room... once you have learned to clean up your mess, you hate being forced into being messy again. And forced bundles = mess. It doesn't change that the mess is virtual. Mess is mess.

About the 6$ argument: that was in the past, but I don't buy this argument at this point anymore. There are lots of games sold for 2$, 3$, 4$ etc. (e.g. Smuggler Guild, Sword of the Stars). And that is normal price, not special sales. So what about these games? Obviously it's no problem anymore to sell at lower prices... the rule of 6$ minimum is over!

And while I don't care so much about the price tag, I expect an appropriate price tag for a specific product, and try to avoid not being forced to buy bundles with other bulk. They could at least sell Lands of Lore I/II for 4$ each, or sell Heroes V single titles for 10$.
I wasn't aware we had to do anything. :P

Put the gun down Judas, I'm buying the fucking thing!
There's certainly no lack of excitement here, as you can see, Hulkion has just been booked for arguing with the referee. He accused drealmer7 of having no free will, and drealmer7 he say 'Be happy you have a place to acquire such games at such incredible prices', and this is Hulkion's first trolling in four games.

Nope, digital mess isn't like "real" mess, as there are tools to clean up. Your tool here is just to hide unwanted games. Easy to use and very effective.

Maybe GOG could unbundle the older releases to sell each game separated, but that also means that GOG needs to make for every release a new contract with the publisher. That's a lot of work and very likely will results in higher prices. So that's not really an option.

About unbundling games with standalone-expansions: We already have that with newer releases, especially with DLCs and bonus stuff. Personally I dislike it, because it makes things more complicated and the need to do a research everytime you want to buy something. For me one complete set is the clean solution here. But in case of Heroes of Might and Magic 5 and other more higher priced games I can understand why you want to have the option to buy the standalones separated.

Oh god, please don't ask for more unbundling mess.
I happen to own Tribes of the East, one of the expansions for HoMMV, in box. Thought it was a full game, but it was a little dissapointing to realize it was just an expansion. It's cool and all, but GoG's system is deal.

At least I just paid 2 dollars for that box :P

This is a legacy of GOG's original pricing scheme of $5.99 or $9.99. Those were the only two prices, so they felt that $9.99 for LoL1+2+3 was too little and that $5.99 each was too much for LoL 1 and 2.
