I run ePSXe on my Kindle Fire 10 and have no problems. Are you trying to run it on a literal toaster?

King's Field is not worth the trouble to play though.

Cannot give a reason "why?" But I have never had very good luck with my PS2 library in PSX. After my PS2 died, I'd hoped to move to PS2 emulation on PC (which is a quite capable machine BTW), but hasn't worked... yet.

PCSX2
works great for me. And with a little tweaking you can save per game setups.

Yes, PCSX2 works quite ok. Newer versions work pretty much out of the box, you can even do some graphic tweaks to improve visuals, like upscaling the resolution...

Someone is asking why an 'emulator' sucks? Hahahaha, Of course it sucks, when do they ever NOT suck??? That's the real question?

Frankly i am surprised that when you look up the definition of the word emulator in the dictionary it does not just say "that which sucks"

Yeah, I tried PCSX2 1.4.0 and could not get it to work well. Most games stuttered terribly. My guess is the software is defaulting to my integrated graphics card even though I have it set to my standalone card (GTX 1070).

I was running PCSX2 1.4.0 and had terrible stuttering so I gave up.

My guess is the software was defaulting to my integrated intel card and not my GTX 1070, but no tweaking seemed to work.

As PCSX2 is open source I'm sure that daily builds are available, perhaps they have implemented a better way to detect your graphics card.

EDIT: They have, you can download the newest in-development version here

Many thanks. Will take a look!

In "emulation settings" menu you have this slider "preset 2-safe", if are having any stutter move more to the right side.
Pcsx2 doesn't use a lot of GPU power on native resolution, most modern desktop CPU integrated graphics can run it, although it need a fast processor with at least 2 cores. I'm using the Pentium g3258 without any trouble.

Even my 7 year old laptop can run it with no problem, even the most difficult game to run wich is Shadow of the Colossus.

I'll take a look after I've downloaded the new build. Just remember spending a day or two troubleshooting a few months back and then gave up.

Just for kicks... the specs on my non-work PC:

Windows 8.1
i7-3770
3.4GHZ
32GB
x64
GTX 1070

You'll have no trouble running PCSX2.

Unless your desktop has something very strange, or is using dual display, it should recognise only the 1070 as Graphics adapter, not integrated...
I am personally using ePSXe emulator for my Android smartphone and it is working fine for me. I think you should try some new technique for emulating ps2. There are lots of good ps2 emulators like Damon Ps2 and RetroArch etc.

I found later versions of ePSXe and PCSX2 that don't suck so I am using them now. This was a while ago, but I'd forgotten about this thread so I didn't update it until now.
I tried a PS1 emulator once to get the normal music in Final Fantasy VIII, when the PC version didn't have it. I did think it was a bit of a painful experience, compared to Dolphin and the SNES emulators I've used. Usually Zelda games are the only console exclusives I really care about, so luckily I never had to use others that much.
I once used espsxe and seemed to work alright for the few games I tried. Granted, this was years ago, back when I had Windows 7 on my PC.

Honestly, I find emulators a pain to use and only use it as a last resort.
