Just curious, because the game giveaways didn't have a consent agreement before, so I'm wondering if the conditions for accepting the free games have changed or if GOG is just being more upfront about the conditions.

Because previously the giveaways came with no strings attached.

Now you have to agree to accept email marketing material from them in order to receive the game.
You can however remove yourself from the e-mails after, so you are not permanently locked in.
Notihng is truly free.
Freedom costs a buck oh five

With a nice Chianti. *slurpslurpslurpslurpslurp* Hmmm... Maybe that's for liver. :)
I recommend you don't accept ... even if the sauce is tasty.

It could eventually cost you a liver or kidney. There may be a lot at steak, that you won't realize until you peel back the onion. You could end up well and truly fried.

Certainly never take a bite, unless you are sure of the condiments.

It's the former :) We kindly ask for your marketing consent as we'd like to stay in touch with you, let you know about the latest additions to our catalog, offers, and store updates. It also enables us to grow as a platform open for all gamers and expand our catalog of games as a result. Game giveaways like this one of XIII, and the exclusive deals available only in our newsletters are our way of thanking you for your continuous support :)

Definitely much better than what some stores want for a freebie ... home address, phone number, waistline measurement, keys to your car, contents of your last meal, etc.

Only one complaint from me .... I already had the game here.

I think I must have too many here now, that's starting to be a common occurrence.

Maybe you could just give folk like me, a voucher for a certain price or value.
