I was pretty happy to hear GOG finally added regional pricing, but the prices seem generally higher than on Steam, surprisingly so in some cases - Bastion is nearly twenty dollars for me when it didn't change price at all on Steam, and the first Deus Ex nearly doubled in price. It's better than it was before for me, but is there any stated reason for the disparity?

I suspect Steam applies a Regional "discount" ( 10/15%) to Canadian users, whereas GOG mirrors USD prices. Exchange rate variations also play a role as GOG has a tendency to update prices to miror rates, whereas Steam is less inclined to do so.

As discussed earlier at length in several other threads, the reason for this is simple: Steam set its CAD-USD conversion rate for CAD pricing to the exchange rate that was in place when Steam announced CAD pricing two years ago. GOG periodically updates its regional pricing (including CAD) to be in step with current changes in the exchange rates.
It's the national penalty for Seth Rogen, Celine Dion, and Justin Bieber. The disparity was much worse until we pointed out Neil Young and Rush.

What, no love for The Tragically Hip, The Guess Who, Chris Hadfield, or Weird Al? :)

If I tried to list ALL of the pluses and minuses, I'd never get to bed tonight. Gotta stick with the highlights. Though leaving Weird Al off the Plus column is a mistake on my part. And Kids in the Hall.

You have impeccable taste.

Just recently I had a jones for Vapour Trails and have been listening to nothing but that for the past couple days.

Bah, you're right. From the times I saw him on MuchMusic I always had it in my mind that he was Canadian...I guess that makes me a Canadian Idiot.
