I never actually played this game, but it's art style is very recognisable. So, according to the screenshot I found that would be Jana from Lands of Lore.

I just found out that this game had a sequel in 2002, featuring the same character (screenshot from sequel below), this time the game is set in middle east, in a holy city of more than one major religion.
