@HypersomniacLive Yes I am signed up for promotional emails. I wouldn't have the number of games I do, if I hadn't. I signed up for them in the early days of GOG. Which means I just signed to receive promotional emails. If they've since splintered into different types, just put me down as being signed up for all promotional emails.

@pkk234 Which is what I said in my second post. They went and "fixed" something that wasn't broken.

Just in case it helps: Barefoot Essentials allows you to choose what happens when clicking directly on your username. Yet another thing that should be part of the website functionality, but isn't.

drmike: Something aint right because after 72 hours, the email should be bouncing back.
Not sure I follow.

Cheers, you're the third one that received it, and is subscribed to promotional emails (btw, you can check your subscriptions here). Adding the one from the German speaking forum, it seems to confirm that only those subscribed will get it.

An email sitting in queue for 8 days doesn;t sound right. After 3 days, the mailer should be bouncing it back and undelivered.

It's not a biggie.
@HypersomniacLive Actually, they told you 8 days after the change.
Nope. I only bought and checked a new game the day before. I checked it by clicking on my user name as usual.

pmcollectorboy: Well there's always the order his...ssssstory. Where the hell did order history go?
Hello, Cobra Commander! They changed what used to be called (if I remember right) "Orders & settings" in the user account dropdown to "Privacy & settings". Still takes you straight to your order history, though.

Hover over your username in the navigation bar, and click "Games" in the dropdown menu. That will take you to your normal library.
(Yes, it's annoying that they changed it, but it only takes an extra half second and one additional mouse movement -- and no extra clicks -- to get to the library, so it's no great hardship. I'm honestly more annoyed that they separated forum notifications from all of the other site notifications for some reason, downgrading them to the old manner in the process, despite only having implemented the new notification functionality a few months ago.)

Yeah I noticed it's on Galaxy but couldn't find it when I was using my phone to browse the forums. So I guess it was a false alarm.

TarotRedHand: BTW I do not use galaxy if at all possible. Once a game that requires it is finished I remove galaxy. I hate game managers.

TR
What game requires Galaxy other than Gwent?

True, but that would require GOG to have sent the email on Apr 23 when the change was introduced, wouldn't it?
When I played The Witcher 3 GOTY it initially gave me the option of either launch direct from the desktop or via Galaxy which is included in the installer. Out of curiosity, I launched it from Galaxy which promptly removed the desktop shortcut leaving me no option but to continue to play via Galaxy. Yes I could probably have removed the lot and reinstalled but I couldn't be bothered to be honest. Uninstalled both when I had got all I could out of the game. Yes I know that galaxy was necessary for the achievements, but I find that generally they are a waste of space that add nothing to gameplay.

TarotRedHand: Seems they've changed the action of clicking on your user name. Prior to today, doing so took you to your games library now it takes you to some wierdo other screen and clicking on games in that screen doesn't take you to your library either.

Lexor: Well, after disabling my profile, default click on user name leads me to 404 error page. So it's even worse.
So far it amuses me... I'm used to click there, and usually webmasters get reports about 404s, so I think the GOG webmasters have lot of fun lately in their mailbox or reports. :)

Although I think they should fix it, because it'll be less and less amusing over time, and probably soon.

You could have simply created your own shortcut pointing at the .exe.
