According to steam, Nordic owns Supreme Commander 1 while Square Enix owns Supreme Commander 2. I would like to have a confirmation whether or not this is true.

Square Enix own the IP rights to Supreme Commander franchise. So they get the right to create another game in the series or whatever.

Nordic Games own the publishing rights to Supreme Commander 1.

Square Enix own the publishing rights to Supreme Commander 2.

Yes, it's up to Nordic whther GOG can distribute SC1.
