tag+: About repeated threads, and being more exact the Russia & Belarus sales halt, IMO GOG must have kept their announcement thread open. One place, one single point to watch and moderate all the opinions (liked or not as you properly indicate) and take the punches and the politics associated there (GOG was the one who decided to open the pandora's box)

StingingVelvet: I'd agree with that. No politics rule should be sort of suspended when it directly impacts the store like this, but self contained. If I were a moderator I'd open that thread back up and delete every other thread about the issue, but I am not.
Agreed and also aware here that my opinion does not have any incidence the way the forum is moderated.
Anyway, I find very interesting info, people and passion for vgaming as other topics here.
Could be better? Sure! as the pursuit of perfection exists for anything else in life.
When old members express the current forum activity is worse than the golden era I really wonder how much then I'd have enjoyed it considering I already do in its lowest point :)

Gog is in full panic mode. The way GOG is treating customers, lately, is not good.

Well, at least there was a post before the lock...

If you ask me, I disagree -having the thread locked as the warning- to the supposed perpetrators

Because everyone is affected: As you correctly say -customers- but also -multiple devs- and the publisher Piko Interactive...

A very lazy moderation in my opinion: They could have timely approached the irritated member, show some empathy and offer alternatives to express her/his mood... Heck, even edit/delete the derailing posts if the offered alternatives did not work.

But No, the moderators crew considered better to dump to the drain a whole thread about the release of 6 games with 60+ posts talking about it... leaving a bunch of people unhappy (I assume)

But hey! Are not my actions nor my company/employer...
Anyway, let's see how this lazy & late moderation works for GOG

How is that remotely 'panic mode'? Dude totally derailed the thread.

I don't think it would work.
When someone is irrational it is difficult to calm them down even if you have a face to face interaction on a common native language. In environments such as forums it makes more sense to just cut the information flow.

Moderators are not trained psychologists who have hours to spend on our personal problems and neurosis. They are more like firefighters coming in to quickly kill the fire by depriving it of fuel and oxygen.

Locking threads or ninja deleting posts without explanation is unprofessional. Multiple people are involved in a thread, the other posters and readers, and it's disrespectful to them to not explain those actions.

Point taken about the psychologists thing.
In my opinion people here can go from 0 to 100 in a blink if the exact emotion is triggered -but- are very rational.
Sure, will take them more than another blink to go back to 0, but it will happen.
Silly me some can say, but I have had luck in 1 year participating here. And no, not only sugar but some heated discussions already on my tab. If they are reading this: No hard feelings at all from my side and I also consider not from theirs. Just different opinions. If we keep interacting, I am sure we will have also happier moments one of this days.

About the language, I totally agree: I think is because we both are from "Other" and we know that expressing/reading -exact - ideas/feelings in English is not a simple duty as translating.
Add to the English grammar & vocabulary things like terms, abbreviations, cultural specifics and real life topics not covered in the classroom and that would offer a glimpse of the challenge.

But here we are, trying our best and probably you like me, enjoying the opportunity to conversate with people all over the world that share the entusiasm of vgaming.

Probably with this post of mine you get a better picture why I do not consider positive to lock theads in such way. But no problem, I also know I do not own/rule the site :)

§pec†re: Yet another thread gets locked by someone hiding in gogs shadows to scared to even give a reason for it just as I was busy writing a reply that I had forgot to post earlier.

It's not the first one either. The question is if it's he who does it for free or some other gog dog being let loose on the forum.
Please refrain from calling any GOG employee or moderator a dog, which is very insulting. If you have constructive feedback regarding our forum moderation, you can always reach out to a moderator. However, remember that disputing moderation itself is against our Code of Conduct.
