Ok now it finally happened. I have officially become old.
Namely, I got offended by humor in a movie, even so much that I decided to stop watching said movie.

I was perusing free streaming movies in the Rakuten.tv service on my TV, and my son saw a glimpse of The Haunted House 2 and said he wants to watch it.

I was like "Is that a sequel to some Eddie Murphy comedy from the 90s or something? Sounds like a nice wholesome family comedy movie.". Oh boy how I misjudged the movie... :D

It started pretty good, the movie seemed kinda funny in a wacky way and I liked how it appeared to spoof the Paranormal Activity kinda horror movies (the scene where his wife asks why he is so fixated with cameras and has security cameras all over the place, LOL!), but when the dog died and the protagonist started calling his stepdaughter a wh*re, I started feeling a bit uneasy.

Then came the scene where the protagonist started having sex with the Abigail doll, talking like a pedophile... At that point I was "Hoookay, I think we have seen enough!". I am not even sure what my son was thinking while watching the movie and especially that scene.

Kinda funny when I think about it now. Maybe I will watch the movie by myself at some point, in case it continues funny. However, IMDB reviews suggested that while it starts funny, it doesn't carry through the whole movie, and I also noticed from the reviews I was not the only one feeling uneasy and offended by the doll scene. Someone even mentioned seeing the movie at the cinema and people walking out of the theater during those doll scenes. :D

Damn I feel ashamed, not being able to take a joke. I mean, come on, I watched and survived movies like Kids (1995) and Gummo (1997), thinking I can never be offended by a movie, especially a comedy.
