On the front page there is a listing for The Linux Playlist. It's merely a link to a search with ten games listed.

None are on sale, and while none of them are bad games (I own 8 of the 10), and some of them are even really good games, I wouldn't classify them as 10 must-play games available on Linux.

What's the point? Or maybe the point is just "here's an odd mix of Linux native and DOSBox games you can buy at full price!"

Last week they had an 80s games thing there for a while, before they announced the sale. My guess is the same this week.
Well, not impressive selection.
I wondered that myself. My guesses were that either they ran out of things to place there, they are experimenting with it, or they are too busy with something else that they just threw that in.
I'm guessing it's an experiment on GOG's part to increase sales and visibility of games. The front page is fairly limited in what in can display without getting too cluttered. Lists like that might help people find games they might not otherwise.
maybe linux uptake hasn't been as dramatic as they'd like.
Now it's called "TOP TEN GAMES FOR LINUX". No fucking way those are the 10 best games offered by GOG which are compatible with Linux...
They're definitely not the 10 best Linux games offered by GOG, and I have a hard time believing that they are the 10 best-selling Linux games offered by GOG!
If I were a Linux aficionado, this collection would be insulting.
At least half of them aren't really for Linux, they run under DOSBox.
Its just a gog sales moderator pick of games he likes. Otherwise very average pick.

This would be much better offer:
TIE FIGHTER
Legend of Grimrock
FTL
Star Wars: Dark Forces
Mount & Blade: Warband
AI War
Soma
Star Ruler 2
Victor Vran
Transistor

GOG is doing this for quite a while already. First time I saw it, it was some "Star Wars games on GOG" thing. IIRC, some blue said they're just experimenting a bit.

Last week it was about the 80s... and the 80s are so present these days.. ;P

Its no surprise since a lot of bigger gog releases are missing a linux build.

These games for example:
- Age of Wonder 3
- Tropico 5
- Metro 2033
- Metro Last Light
- Bastion
- Penumbra
- Wargame: European Escalation
- Cities in Motion
- Grand Ages: Medieval
- Dungeons 2 and so on.

I see baldur gate, planescape torment, master of magic, grim fandango, psychonauts, pillars of eternity, shadowrun, trine, don't starve, bard's tale, shadow warrior, rogue legancy, icewind dale, wasteland 2, Divinity Original Sin, Broken age, Mark of the Ninja, Transistor etc etc listed under Linux.

How the current playlist can beat all of them?
Even if you count the more recent games, there is Divinity Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity, Don't Starve, Wasteland 2, Shadow run, Broken Age, etc etc.

Exactly. Anything else would be better then what they put up. I just made my pick where I tried to balance the genres a bit.
