As for the game, it is one of the Dark Disciples games. After consulting online screenshots, I'd say it's Dark Disciples 2.

No idea, but the second makes me think of a lighter DS version of Hotline Miami.

Well, you do have a lot of options to deal with your enemies, one of those is sumoning. Lets say the game is based around that feature :)

Btw, never heard/seen this game before. A hint came up when I googled for the phrase shown in the first image ... which was actually almost by luck even with google I guess because I only received 3 hits which .. is seldom.
