Sure. Game Mini Metro awaits in 7 days for random person postings ideas here.

I would love to see some stability in Flash Sales and set some expectations for it. My idea is 12 hours on 12 hours off, starting 5 pm UTC, three games at once with -90%, -75%, -50%. Every day, the whole year, as an independent event.

Please share your ideas, by commenting on Flash Sales on Go_G!
Thank You!

From what i've seen recently, they seem to have 3 games or so on a sale, which lasts about 24 hours.

As for how it should be? Hard to say. I'd probably do one game every 4 hours (6-12 games), that lasts for 12-36 hours, and during the first run has a higher discount than later (could be like 5% to encourage sales, assuming it's not above 90%). While on the last day all should be available on discount for those who only show up on the last day (but without the 5%)

As for if there isn't a sale going on... I don't know. Flash sales can push some excitement, and limited number of sales can push some excitement, but we don't need repeats of Jack Keen which halts everything to a crawl. And a lot of people can't just stay around watching for 6 hours to try and catch good deals or the random 'free' game that will get snatched up by a bot faster than it can blink on your screen.

Honestly i'd scrap flash sales and leave to solid discounts throughout the sale, that respects people's time, and maybe a flash sale reserved for publishers/devs who want to push one of their games by selling it lower for a limited duration (outside the norm), if it is somehow interesting or puzzle or hits some sweet spot (or to coincide with a release of a new game)

Guess it comes more down to 'Why should there be flash sales' and less duration/setup at that point.
I don't mind the way it is now, I check in again in time for the next deals.

First I though this was about insomnia.
# announce it a few days before start
# really deep discounts (not just 5% add)
# < 500 copies
# if sold out then next product
# if not sold out switch to next product after 4-6 hours
# 85% discount for Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines
Just to make things clear: We are talking about flash sales, right? In other words, we are talking about deals similar to what is running as 'Deal of the Day' at the moment and not about Insomnia sales.

My take on flash sales:

6 games available at a time. Each game is available for 24 hours. Every 4 hours the oldest game drops out of the sale and a new one appears.

In my opinion this is the best format. 6 games are enough to have something interesting for everybody without being too many. The time is long enough that you can easily sleep and go to work and still have enough time to look up games you don't know but you still have to decide within a relatively short time if the game is for you.

As for the discount, it should be at least 75% to feel significant and it should be higher than the typical discount for the game. Optimally it should be even higher than the previously best discount. Because, what's the point in a time limited deal if it is no better than the deal we get for 2 weeks in every other sale?

the 5% was to be on top of the usual sale. so 80% but on flash it's 85%, the finale not having the 5%. Can encourage the 'i got a steal!' mentality if you catch it before the last day.

I agree, i was going to suggest that, but simply having a flat discount all the time would be better vs limited time. Beyond that. *shrugs*
