amok: On disk ≠ DRM free

tinyE: Technically yes, but I'm willing to put up with it. All the other crap is inexcusable.
not forget it is also the other way around - DRM free ≠ On disk. What if it was a gOg code in the box?
avatar
tinyE: When that happens I'll be too busy nursing the wounds on my ass after pigs come flying out of it.
That made me laugh, and I'm upset about it.

Didn't say it was. But the fact they think they can sell a box with a sticker inside rather than making an actual disc with the game is an annoyance. If it doesn't rely on steamworks for DRM, then there's no reason it has to be Digital Distribution only. However when i buy a box at the store, i expect something inside it. If it's going to be a code, it can be if it is like a phone card with a scratch-off code.

Exactly my point. Should the service be inaccessible or go away, i'd still want data in my box that i purchase.

What if the earth rotates backwards and the sky turns orange?
Thanks for the chuckle. ;)
Not going to happen, Valve created the "gold" standard of DRM for PC gaming. :P
It made them more money than all of the games they developed combined.

Instead of "What if they did", how about "what would make them"?
Long story short: $$$

Long story: They continue messing up/ticking people off big time making loyal customers leave, and their attempts at expanding their user base fails. Which would force them to have a change in vision/direction (i.e. in-house mutiny) leading to Valve kicking out Gabe to the curb like Elmo got kicked out of ScummSoft (in Space Quest 6) some time after losing to Roger in a battle of Nukem Dukem bots.
The day were we all have become wizards and when riding rainbow-pooping unicorns is no longer a dream happened (about 24 hrs before Valve made that decision, also, GabeN turned into a Pony).

Played Destiny recently?

stg83: Yet another thread, solely created to show some "activity"
What if I was so bored that I decided to entertain myself by trolling the forum with an extremely unlikely hypothetical rhetorical question and then sit back hopefully waiting for fireworks in a maladroit, ham-fisted effort to amuse myself?...

According to 's [url=]Inferno the lowest circle of Hell is rather frigid...

Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno (Original Version)
Attachments:
1. Install Steam game in CrossOver.
2. Take Steam offline.
3. Export bottle as archive.

Portable and effectively DRM-free. Rinse and repeat.

No, I hate boredom.
Who are "they"? Valve? Why should "they"? "They" want to keep the spice flowing...especially after "they" opened the floodgates to let even more money in....that might actually lead to some publishers leaving steam and setting up their own DRM-ridden platforms. Oh wait...

Even if they would...so what? Wouldn't turn the vaporised water into Cloud Cuckoo Land....

I give up...this is what DRM means today..the term is now officially meaningless.
