I just found out that GOG has the option to gift multiple games through a single gift link (forgive me since I don't use GOG that frequently lol). Being a curious person, I just don't know how will GOG handle that situation. I don't wanna spend money to test it and can't find anything on Google so I just wanna ask if anyone knows.

I have a few speculations, like:

1. GOG won't let you redeem the gift link at all

2. GOG will refund the duplicate games to you

3. GOG will still redeem it as normal, your friend won't receive an additional copy and you will lose your money since duh, it's your fault anyway

4. GOG will still redeem it as normal but your friend will receive an additional copy

5. Your gift link can still be used after your friend redeemed all the games that they don't own. But the duplicated one will still be saved inside that link and can be activated when another user uses it.

6. Something else that I haven't thought about

Can someone help me with this silly question? Thank you.

I haven't tried it lately, but from what I remember, it's always been (5). I think if the receiver inputs the code, they are directed to a list of the games and can put checkmarks behind the ones they want to redeem. If they already own a game, it will likely be greyed out or something.

I remember we had a giveaway here once based on trust where a single code with lots of games on it was passed around and everyone only redeemed one game before nominating the next trustworthy person to receive the code. And it worked perfectly.

Oh wow, that's a cool idea I have to be honest. I have only claim keys with a single game in it so I didn't know we can even pick what we want to redeem too. Seems like Steam can learn a few thing from GOG in this aspect.Thank you for the answer.
