Yeah but it doesn't seem anyone was disrupting it, etc. Just seemed to come out of no where.

There were some veiled references by one or two thread regulars (after it closed) that they had decided to take their conversations elsewhere.
I'm not sure I ever posted in there, and seldom even checked it, but I know that, just a short time before it was locked, the OP got low-rated enough to gray the thread out in the forum view; that may have had something to do with CarrionCrow's decision to ask that it be locked.

The main post was being downvoted constantly, they didn't want the thread to get deleted.
