What should be concerning is the precedent this sets in western countries, especially as western transnational corporations look envious towards China and their "system"...on the other hand, I do not remember any games on the top of my head which directly took political references to current ruling figures into their game.

Nevertheless, the situation between China and Taiwan is precarious.

I just started reading Sutton's Wall Street and the Bolshevik revolution...monopoly capitalism and communism are not that far apart according to him.

We don't live in china. GOG is not based in china. We have free speech. If someone wants to make a game all about pissing on the president of the u.s., nobody would care but this game isn't allowed on GOG because of Winnie the Pooh joke that was removed. How is that silly? How is it silly that this developer has no backing from countries and companies that exist solely due to the progress we have made regarding human rights? The same rights the people in china do not have and yet GOG is bowing to them. Fucking hypocrites want to serve the chinese market, they should relocate to china. Wouldn't that just be the silliest thing.

TencentInvestor: Everyone should be forever critical of the launch of an unfinished game and the unfinished launch of a game.
Without the "toxic community" of people who spend money on videogames, there will be no GOG.
Oh look who it is, not tired of shitting up threads with off topic cyber punk bullshit yet. Get a fucking life mate. If that money broke you, you have bigger problems than a video game.

GOG should not give up its economic opportunities in China just because of a bunch entitled gamers. This practice, which they've done, has been done by pretty much every gaming company that does business with China. Steam, Blizzard etc have all pulled games for the very same thing.

I wonder what I could do to get you on my side, friend... Maybe I should try selling you broken and unfinished things to secure your everlasting loyalty. I will tell you what I am tired of: Waiting for refunds. Every day that passes with silent support is another day I've been scammed. Feels bad. Look around you. Everyone apart from CDP has bigger problems than a video game right now. I'm sorry if I annoyed you by repeating myself but it is what it is.

Unlike a bunch of entitled Chinese nationalists? I should not give up my right to choose which games to buy and play if it happens to offend a foreign dictator and his lackeys, for I live in a free world. They could've made the game unavailable to Chinese consumers, but apparently that's not politically correct enough in this day and age. It's true GOG is well within its rights to make this decision, but it's also true that their global userbase has every right to criticize them for it and demand better.

It's obvious non-Chinese are treated as second-class customers, and it's idiotic to presume they get to have their cake and eat it too. GOG made their choice, they lied and shit the bed, now they can sleep in it.

Another one calling customers "entitled". Who is teaching you people?

Corporations aren't your buddy-buddy, and we shouldn't feel thankful for every scrap thrown our way.

A business transaction is just that: BUSINESS. And if I'm paying for something, I have the right to complain AND to DEMAND A BETTER SERVICE.

This is how it works, or rather how it SHOULD work.

I'm flabbergasted at this notion that demanding quality service is now "entitlement". What weird utopia are people living in these days?
